Philip has over 30 years’ of experience in corporate and commercial law and specialises in intellectual property and technology.
After commencing a career in corporate/commercial law with Queensland’s leading law firm, Philip undertook an LLM at the University of London specializing in Intellectual Property Technology and Competition Law. On returning to Australia in 1993 he became in-house counsel for IBM. During the emergence of the internet in the early-mid 1990s-2000’s Philip developed some of the first online transactional models used by Australian business. Philip established the first Australian information technology law practice in one of Australia’s top national law firms as well as practicing in intellectual property and related commercial work. He continues to represent clients in a range of industries and has recently completed studies in the valuation of intangible property in the US.
Outside his legal career Philip enjoys surfing, sailing, running; ancient and modern history, travel and property restoration.
